Who Should Take This Course?

The course has been designed for people who are working in the food industry and require the skills and techniques to undertake root cause analysis as required by The Global Food Safety Standard issue 6.  The course includes specific examples from the food industry and also provides examples of relevant forms that students can use on completion of the course to undertake root cause analysis techniques.

Course Structure

The course has been developed incorporating graphics, animation and voice-over to create a rich interactive experience, that helps maintain the learners’ interest throughout the course, as well as making the course easier to digest. This portable format and a module based course allow the student to learn at their own pace and enter and exit the course as they see fit.

Content

  • What is meant by the term Root Cause Analysis
  • What is meant by the terms root cause, contributing factors and counter measures.
  • Understanding the following root cause analysis techniques:
  • The different stages of Root Cause Analysis procedure.
  • The different techniques required to undertake a root cause analysis covering:

–        5 Whys

–        Fishbone Diagram

–        Pareto Analysis

 

Assessment

The online assessment is taken on completion of the course. The assessment comprises of questions including multiple choice, true or false and matching, with a minimum of 70% correct answers required to pass.  On satisfactory completion, the student will be issued with a totrain Certificate.

Duration

It is estimated the course will take three hours to complete. The course can be completed in one sitting or multiple sessions depending on the learners’ requirements.
