Who Should Take This Course?

The course has been designed specifically for food handlers who have very little, or no knowledge of allergens or food intolerances. The course gives learners a basic awareness of allergens, food intolerances and how to control them in a manufacturing environment.

 

Course Structure

The course has been developed incorporating graphics, animation, games, voiceover and video to create a rich interactive experience, that helps maintain the learners’ interest throughout the course, as well as making the subject easy to learn.

 

Content

The course content:

  • Identifies the difference between an allergic and an intolerant reaction.
  • The key legislation relating to allergens.
  • Methods to control allergens and intolerances in food processing / manufacturing operations.
  • Testing for the presence of allergens.

 

Assessment

The online assessment is taken on completion of the course. The assessment comprises of questions including multiple choice, true or false and matching, with a minimum of 70% required to pass.  On satisfactory completion, the student will be issued with an E Learning Certificate.

 

Duration

It is estimated the course will take two hours to complete. The course can be completed in one sitting or multiple sessions depending on the learners’ requirements.
